Once they were cooked we decorated them.

Today we made cupcakes to raise funds for the SPCA. It was great fun. The cupcakes tasted delicious. We decorated them to look like animals.

Cup Cake Day
Here is a recipe for cup cakes (from the Edmonds Cook Book).
125g butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1/2 cup caster sugar
2 eggs
1 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 cup milk
Cream butter, vanilla and sugar until light and fluffy. add eggs one at a time, beating well. Sift flour and baking powder together. Fold int the creamed mixture. Stir in the milk. Place 18 paper patty cases on a tray. Spoon mixture evenly into cases. Bake at 190 C for about 15 minutes or until cakes spring back when lightly touched. Cool. Decorate when cold.
